Foreign University International School Manila Philippines - Friday the 13th Event

 While many are afraid of what Friday the 13th brings, SFU celebrated it with a bash. Last July 13, 58 students of SFU received their academic credentials in an elaborate graduation ceremony held at the Insular Life Auditorium, Filinvest Corporate Centre, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

This year’s guest of honor and commencement speaker was Dr. Chris Haslam, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Chester (UC) in Chester, England. He was accompanied by Dr. Alexis Mclean, Mr. Bryan Hall, and Mr. Garfield Southall, fellow visiting professors and administrators from UC. Engr. Francisco R. Abayari, Jr., Change-maker President of the Rotary Club of Makati Salcedo was also present during the rites to honor the SFU Rotaract Club and its officers as the most active Rotaract Club. Likewise present to witness the graduation ceremonies were Dr. Melva M. Diamante, Dr. Rhoderick R. Santos, Dr. Rodolfo deG. Ibañez, Ms. Jocelyn P. Tizon, and Dr. Jerry A. Aguilar, members of the SFU Board of Directors, and the faculty members of the Schools of Business and Computing, and Hospitality Management. 

Students who have been with Southville since their elementary days were given loyalty awards. Mei Yuen Ann Chan, John Armand Sanchez, and John Gilbert Taylor, and their respective parents were given medals and plaques of appreciation in recognition of their loyalty and commitment to Southville. Five students, in the same way, received special awards for their active participation in various student clubs and school activities, namely: Kimberley Pedge, Chaselle Rodriguez, Angelica Cara Madamba, Mandy Sanchez, and Denise Pablo. 

This year’s top achievers, the so-called cream of the crop, were also recognized. The Academic Excellence Awardees of 2012 were: Loreta C. Paguia and Lorena Nieva, who both received their Master in Business Administration degree from the SFU Graduate School; Orlette Reyes, who received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the School of Business and Computing; Karenne Dacayan from the School of Hospitality Management; and, Kristine Eliza Fredheim, who attained the highest Edexcel Distinction Academic Achievement Award for the Class of 2012. 

Congratulations to the new batch of graduates! Show them GOLD!
