SFU Inaugurates New Building

October 7, 2011 - SFU witnessed the celebration of another important stage in the progressive development of its educational facility through the grand inauguration and blessing ceremony of the Lima Building. The dignitaries who graced the occasion were His Excellency Stephen Lillie, British Ambassador to the Philippines, Mr. Simon Young, Edexcel’s Regional Director (Southeast Asia), Mrs. Ida Henares, Assistant Vice President and Head of GMA Artist Center GMA 7 Network and Ms. Gwendoline Ruais, Ms. World Philippines 2011 and an alumna of SFU.

The blessing of the Lima Building was followed by the official cutting of the ribbon by the dignitaries, SFU’s top management Mr. Roger D. Bartholomew, Chairman (SFU), Dr. Genevieve Ledesma – Tan, Chief Executive Mentor of SISC & SGEN. Dr. Melva Diamante, President (SFU), Dr. Patrick Ryan, Dean (School of Business and Computing), and Mrs. Carol Pido, Head of the School of Hospitality Management.

“As British Ambassador you will not be surprised to know that I think British Education is one of the stand-out strengths of the United Kingdom”, said His Excellency Stephen Lillie during his toast.

Since 1998, SFU has been providing 100 percent foreign credentials to students in the Philippines who seek international recognition and career. Students of SFU are awarded with foreign degrees and advanced diplomas from Australia, the U.K and the U.S. It is the only Edexcel center in the Philippines, Edexcel is the largest accrediting body in the U.K.
