Chris Godinez, 22, University of Chester - Business Management Graduate
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I am Chris - destroyer of haters and lover of prayers. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management under the University of Chester (United Kingdom) at SISFU.
What have you been up to since you graduated in 2015?
I have been working for a real estate agency in Hong Kong. I have worked as a Sales Agent and then got promoted to an administrative position. The Hong Kong real estate market is definitely cutthroat with its fierce competition, but the experience is invaluable for a fresh graduate as myself.
How has SISFU helped shape you to who you are now?
Before studying at SISFU, I was very complacent. As long as I met my minimum requirement, I would be satisfied with my performance. This attitude did not help me when I entered SISFU. I was expected to achieve excellence and give out my best for every task and assignment; doing things halfheartedly will not bring me any positive results.
I recognized that I had to break out of my comfort zone and aim for the best results in every task I have. I will always remember holding high the torch of excellence for the rest of my life. (sounds cheesy)
How long have you lived in Hong Kong?
I was born in Hong Kong until I went to the Philippines for high school and college. Went back after graduating and have been staying here ever since.
Tell us more about your love for music! When did you find out you love it?
I have always been playing music since I was a kid. My parents are lovers of music as well, which pretty much foster my passion for it.
We hear you sing a lot around campus, what do you think is the theme song for your time in SISFU?
Breaking Free from High School Musical – Soaring through all the highs and lows of the SISFU life.
What/who are some of your biggest inspirations?
Aside from my parents, King Krule!
What would your dream collaboration be?
King Krule and/or Fleet Foxes' Robin Pecknold.
What does the rest of 2017 look like to you?
Challenging but hopeful!
Any advice for incoming college students?
Always be gritty and always be hungry for knowledge.
