Visitors from De Montfort University, SISFU’s UK Partner for Undergraduate Transnational Education

On Monday, February 19, 2019, SISFU welcomed Dr. Ed Thompson, DMU Link Tutor & Associate Professor, Dept. of Strategic Management and Marketing, Mr. Lawrence D’Souza, Director of Global Partnerships, and Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Associate Dean of Post-Graduate and Corporate and Professor of Digital Transformations, Faculty of Business and Law.

De Montfort University has been named Associate Member of the United Nations Department of Public Information, NGO, the only university so honored for its work on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. DMU is the No. 1 University in the UK for Student Experience and has been awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework. A modern, vibrant international university, DMU is leveraging their decades of leadership in transnational education to forge ahead in partnership with SISFU.

In meetings with SISFU’s President, Dr. Melva M. Diamante, Executive Committee members Southville Chief Executive Mentor Dr. Genevieve Ledesma-Tan, Mr. Roger Bartholomew, Dr. Roderick Santos, Ms. Jocelyn Tizon, and SISFU officers, Dr. Jerry Aguilar, Dr. Marjorie Tangog, Mr. Leo Anoche, Ms. Caroline Mediodia, Ms. Cris Borja, Ms. Anabelle Lesaca, Ms. Sandra Sacay, Ms. Lorie Paguia, Mr. Daniel Steel, and Ms. Kimberley Pedge, information was exchanged about the DMU Global program, an exciting opportunity for guided worldwide study tours for students planning to study at SISFU, and also about exchange programmes. Opportunities for growth of the partnership were explored including the development of new Degree Programmes such as Business Entrepreneurship and Innovation and more.

An expanded partnership agreement between DMU and SISFU is in development and will be completed in the near future. A lively exchange between Dr. Thompson, Dr. Hafeez, Mr. D’Souza, and SISFU officers about a variety of opportunities, tracks, growth areas, student exchanges, and partnership avenues demonstrates DMU’s outstanding commitment to the partnership with SISFU and the bright future ahead.
