Internships and Work Placements

Frances Rodelas

Foreign University International School Manila Philippines - Frances Rodelas - Internship

I’m undergoing my internship at Medina Grand Vibe (now rebranded to Adina Vibe) under Toga Hospitality in Waterfront, Darwin, Northern Territory in Australia. Currently, I'm working in the Hotel Restaurant as a Supervisor and Barista. I manage 3-5 Team Members on daily restaurant operation particularly in morning and mid shift.

SISFU helped me in my internship by training me with the help of professional lecturers who are involved in the same career path. They helped by not only using terms and lectures but by practical means as well. SISFU gives students the opportunity to experience what it’s like working in a real scenario.

Having the chance to spend my internship in a foreign country and work with different nationalities opened my eyes to a lot of things around me. It made me realize and discover my other skills and potential in managing a team and run the day-to-day operation in the restaurant.

The most important thing that I learned from this whole experience is “Don't be afraid to commit mistakes because mistakes are part of life and part of the step by step process of learning.” Those mistakes will serve as the key to one's success, whatever career path you choose.
