Summary: 

Foreign University International School Manila Philippines - Global Dimensions Olympiad Semifinals 2013 - Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA)

"A Model United Nation’s simulates the activities of the United Nations body, particularly the General Assembly and its committees. Participants (Delegates) assume roles of ambassadorial status of Member States to the United Nations and consider, at the minimum, four (4) items from the U.N. systems' vast agenda.”

Through such role-playing, students gain greater understanding of global issues and the complexities of the international diplomatic system. Organized by the SFU Rotaract Club, eight (8) participants were sponsored by the Rotary Club of Makati Salcedo to take part in the MUNA Orientation Seminar hosted by The Rotary Club of Makati Jose P. Rizal. Participants were separated into different groups with other students from different schools and universities nation –wide. Each group was given a country to defend and information of the country and the country’s view of the topic. Participants were advised on the procedures of the on goings of an actually MUNA setting, and expected to carry them out during the mock debate that took place later that afternoon.
