Thanksgiving Dinner: Eat, Drink, and Give Thanks
In many parts of the world, families and friends come together during the Autumn season to celebrate their harvest and to give thanks for their blessings.
Last December, SISFU 2nd year Culinary Arts students organised a dinner affair to observe Thanksgiving. The Bistro Lima was decorated with festive, fall colors and the bounty of the harvest time typically associated with the beautiful season of Autumn. Guests were regaled with a couple of song numbers from the Pocahontas movie soundtrack and were treated to a set menu consisting of the following:
- Cream of Pumpkin Soup topped with Sauteed Spinach-Sesame
- Stuffed Turkey Breast with Espagnole Sauce
- Roast Sweet Potatoes, Eggplant Chips, Sauteed Carrots and French Beans
- Deconstructed Apple and Pear Tart a la mode with Chocolate Ganache and Meringue Shards with a choice of Santa Carolina Premio Chilean Fruity Red or White Wine
