Focus on Excellence
Last 16 November, Gordon J. Stevenson, expert in Business Excellence and certified assessor for the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) gave six important points to remember when it came to focusing on excellence.
In preparation for the strategic plan, organizations need to conduct self-assessment. This is where the EFQM business excellence model of self-assessment is used in order for the organization to realize its internal conditions, educate employees, involve them, and allow sharing of “good practices” within the organization. There are tools for measuring quality of services and processes. To ensure that blinders, routines, shackles, and dogmas do not prevent organizations from moving forward in the midst of changing environments, leading companies should always think and work constantly. Attitude and behavior are values required from internal stakeholders. There are emergent strategies which companies need to consider in realizing the over-all strategies. Sustainable growth is supported by strategic plan process.
