Inter-Ed 23rd Career Counseling And Guidance Fair Exhibit

International Education Specialist (Inter-Ed) held its 23rd Career Counseling and Guidance Fair exhibit last September 15-16, 2011 at Philippine Trade and Training Center (PTTC).

Thousands of high school students from Metro Manila and nearby provinces gathered at the Inter-Ed exhibit to see what the different universities and colleges from Metro Manila and abroad had to offer and speak to their representatives. Forty-eight of the top Philippine universities and colleges such as University of the Philippines, University of Santos Tomas, Mapua Institute of Technology, Adamson University, St. Paul College, Centro Escolar Universities, Asia Pacific College, Assumption College, SFU, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Southville International School and Colleges, Miriam College, University of Perpetual Help-Dalta, South Mansfield College and the eight most popular schools abroad: Angelia Ruskin University, At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy, International College of Hotel Management, Kendall College, Le Cordon Bleu, Swiss Hotel Management School, William Angliss Institute and University of Massachusetts took part in this year’s Inter-Ed event.

Besides the exhibits, other activities at the event included seminars, production numbers and demos presented by the participating universities and colleges.  One of the highlights at the Career Counseling and Guidance Fair 2011 was the unveiling of the Professional Chefs, Professional Hoteliers and Professional Restaurateurs offerings of SFU. This Philippine-based university which awards degrees and advanced diplomas from Australia, the UK and the USA, hosted a series of culinary demonstrations over the two days of the event. Their first and second year students from the Professional Chef, Restaurateur and Hotelier programs conducted the demos gave the numerous interested high school students the opportunity to taste the food and participate in preparing salad dressing, cupcake decorating, chicken fabrication, fruit carving, sandwich decorating and pasta making. Dr. Melva Diamante, President of SFU said that the reason students love coming to SFU is that everyday has real life learning experience and that students get a huge boost for entering the industry as professionals from the paid overseas one year internships that they undergo as part of their program. Many of the overseas institutions which exhibited at the 23rd Career Counseling & Guidance Exhibit are partners or affiliates of SFU.
