Part-Time Faculty – Statistics and Probability for Business Analytics

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Statistics and Probability for Business Analytics.
  • Prepare course syllabi, lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments.
  • Facilitate interactive classroom discussions and practical applications using statistical tools and business data.
  • Evaluate student performance
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic progress.
  • Provide academic consultation and guidance to students.
  • Comply with institutional policies and academic standards.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • Preferably with teaching experience at the college or university level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics, probability, statistical analysis, and business analytics applications.
  • Proficient in statistical software and data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, SPSS, R, Python, or similar applications.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to integrate real-world business cases and data-driven decision-making into classroom instruction.
  • Professional certification or relevant industry experience in analytics or data science is an advantage.

Faculty for Programming and Database (Units 1 & 4) – 1 faculty

This role focuses on building a strong foundation in programming logic and database management.

  • Core Competencies include software development lifecycles, including designing and implementing algorithms, selecting appropriate programming paradigms (procedural, object-oriented, or event-driven), and debugging processes.
  • Strong proficiency in relational database systems, covering logical design (ER modeling, normalization to 3NF), physical implementation, and complex SQL querying.
  • Practical experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and coding standards to ensure code maintainability and security.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard languages such as Python and advanced database management tools.
  • A masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Faculty for Data Science & Advanced Analytics – at least 2

This role requires a specialist capable of teaching the entire data lifecycle, from statistical foundations to advanced machine learning and big data visualization.

  • Core competencies include Statistical & Predictive Modeling with strong background in business statistics, probability distributions, regression analysis, and time-series forecasting.
  • Ability to implement and evaluate various  Machine Learning (ML) algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning) to solve real-world problems.
  • Expertise in managing Big Data and creating impactful visual storytelling through visualisations and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience in developing prescriptive and predictive models for specific business domains such as but not limited to risk analysis, fraud detection, or supply chain optimization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python (and associated libraries for data analysis), and experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI definitely a plus.
  • A masters degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Business Analytics. Industry experience in data science roles is highly preferred to guide students through the ethical and compliance challenges of the field.
