During my internship I worked in the company TL Korea CO. Ltd., I got the chance to experience the something I was so curious about which is the real business. I’ve been studying business for few years not only in the Philippines but also in several universities in Seoul, South Korea and Sydney, Australia. But it has been really hard to get the concept of what the real business is. I thought there was no better way to get to know about real business without facing it directly in the real business place.
Well, here we are. I finally I had a chance in my country, South Korea. To be honest, I had interviews with many companies in Korea a few months ago. There were some big companies that gave me a chance to experience their business culture, but I chose to go for small but active company where I can experience what I wanted. So I went to the Chinese company which is owned by my friend’s mother. And that’s the beginning of my internship in Korea!
I traveled to China once a month as a sales director. I did not really know much about their business but my boss believed in me so she gave me a high position at a work. When I went to China, I went to a farm in the countryside to learn about agricultural products such as Perilla seeds, Red pepper and Onion.
I spent most of the time in Korea meeting the buyers who want to buy agricultural products from China. For the first two months since I started work, I couldn’t make any contract with them. But after those painful two months, I finally made my first contract with a buyer in Korea. My boss who’s in China found a branch in Korea, and I became the general manager of the Korean branch.
Even if I’m done with working with them right now, through this I gained a lot of knowledge and experience which is really hard to have normally within this short time. And I could found my own business which is smaller than the one I used to get involved but more exciting and has a vision.
These are called Perilla seeds which are the company’s main product. Mostly used in China, Korea and Japan.
This is my Chinese friend Edwin. We met in Australia almost 6 years ago and finally started working together.
When I was in the office in Shen Yang, China. All employees were kind to me.
About 3 months ago, I went Lanzhou, China to buy tons of onions.
