The Global Dimensions Olympiad 2024
In our continued commitment to quality education for the youth, SISFU once again held The Global Dimensions Olympiad 2024 (GDO) in partnership with The Rotary Club Makati - Salcedo (RCMS). Now in its 21st year, this successful collaboration is a testament to the fervent dedication of SISFU and RCMS towards educational advancement.
Through this successful collaboration, GDO is able to continue this annual tradition of granting scholarships to qualified Grade 12 - Senior High School students from all over the Philippines. Students belonging to the top 20% of their class with a GPA of 85% grade and above were invited to participate. This year, a total of 237 registrants took part in the preliminary round hailing from 113 schools located in NCR, Calabarzon, Agusan, Leyte, Camarines Norte, Zamboanga Del Norte, La Union, Palawan, Albay, Cebu, and Aklan.
Last March 23, 2024, the culminating event was held at SISFU’s Luxembourg Hall. In attendance were members of RCMS and SIFU led by RCMS President Ms. Pamela-Ruth Esquivel, CPA, PP Dr. Rod Santos, PP Richie Marquez, and SISFU Chairman Dr. Melva M. Diamante. Quiz Master Dr. Rolly S. Donato was tasked to lead the games for the top five (5) schools in academic competition including an oral competition on the following topics:
- Global Awareness
- Science
- Math
- Knowledge of World Leaders and Figures
- History
- Economics
- Geography and Demography
Champion - Stonyhurst Southville International School - Malarayat - 100% scholarship for participating students and PhP 20,000 for the school
1st runner-up - Las Piñas City National Science High School - 75% scholarship for participating students and PhP 15,000 for the school
3rd runner-up - South Mansfield College- 3rd Runner up - 50% scholarship for participating students and PhP 7,000 for the school
4th runner-up - Don Bosco School - Salesian Sisters, Inc. 50% scholarship for participating students and PhP 5,000 for the school
