De Montfort University (DMU) Validates SISFU to Offer Three New Programmes

June 11, 2019

Cheers erupted and hearts burst with exultant joy and vindication as De Montfort University confirmed, after a demanding multi-month process, that SISFU had passed the Collaborative Review of the Partnership and been validated to deliver three new undergraduate DMU programmes in the Faculty of Business & Law last June 3-4, 2019. The new programmes will launch in School Year 2019-2020 and take SISFU students further than ever before with three Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree programmes: Accounting & Business Management, Business Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and Business Administration & Management.

Since the DMU-SISFU partnership was founded in 2015, it has been of vital importance to both SISFU and DMU to ensure that academic standards have been appropriately defined and implemented so that all students are offered a UK quality education and student experience. SISFU’s solid track record has led DMU to validate SISFU to offer three new undergraduate programmes this coming school year. Quality assurance and collaboration are at the heart of the DMU-SISFU partnership, hence the many preliminary and preparatory meetings between DMU representatives and SISFU faculty and staff in the months leading up to the Collaborative Review and Validation Panels.

Promoting best practices and academic excellence add value to global education, which was reinforced with the presence of De Montfort University representatives such as: Link Tutor- Dr. Ed Thompson, Programme Leader- Dr. Simon Hill, Global Partnerships Officer- Ms. Katie Warren, Programme Leader- Mr. Andrew Nicholson and the DMU Validation Panel members: Dr. Abigail Moriarty, Dr. David Wick, Ms. Kathryn Butler, Ms. Shona Green, and Dr. Andrew Thompson.

This breakthrough in the partnership with DMU would never have been attainable without the support of SISFU President - Dr. Melva Diamante, Dean of the School of Business Management - Dr. Marjorie Tangog, SOBM Administrative Head - Ms. Kimberley Pedge, and many more who committed to solidify the partnership between SISFU and DMU so that together they might flourish.

For SISFU, the validation of new programmes is the culmination of years of hard work, satisfied students, and prosperous alumni, which heralds the next phase of growth and ensures the continuing health of the partnership with De Montfort University to build new competencies and a better, more sustainable future for the next generation.
