Minds Battle: GDO 2019 Search for SISFU’s Scholars

The annual event Global Dimension Olympiad (GDO) Championship, facilitated and sponsored by the quiz master, Rotary Club of Makati Salcedo, welcomed almost a hundred student participants for the final round of battles of intellect for the privilege to be the next SISFU scholars on March 23, 2019 at the Luxembourg Hall.
Out of 127 students from the preliminary round held November 17, 2018, the unconquered teams of students that made it to the final round proved that they deserved a spot. The schools’ teams were as follows:
• Overall Champion – Sen. Renato Cayetano Science Technology High School- 100% Scholarship.
• 1st Runner Up – Divine Light Academy- 50% Scholarship Grant.
• 2nd Runner Up - South Mansfield College- 50% Scholarship Grant.
The other finalists were Elizabeth Seton School, St. Therese College and Veritas Parochial School earning 50% scholarship grants.
This year’s GDO broke from the traditional quiz-bee format, adding a fun bonus round with SISFU students and participants got a chance to earn special cash prizes. Each round provided questions in different fields including General Academics, Philippines, History and Current Affairs.
As competitors vie for the scholarship prizes, they bring pride to their schools, friends, and families as they showcase their knowledge and abilities in this premier competition. The Global Dimensions Olympiad serves as a crucible with the winners earning their place in the leading Transnational Educational Institution in the Philippines and opening up global opportunities. The partnership between SISFU and the Rotary Club of Makati-Salcedo brings together bright minds, industry leaders, and international educators, and forges bonds among the next generation of business leaders and champions of the world.
