SISFU Students, Qualifiers and Placers in the 6th Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific Virtual Student English Speech Competition

By: Tram Panaligan

From April 27 - 29, 2022, SISFU took part in the battle of the wits in the 6th Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) Virtual Student English Speech Competition (SESC) with the host institution being Siam University, Bangkok, Thailand.

Julianne Portic, 3rd Year Bachelor of Business in Hospitality Management, and Roberth Ignacio, 3rd Year Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Administration and Management, exhibited their prowess in communication as they took part in the prestigious tourney.

The said participants jousted alongside hundreds of aspirants from different countries online in a series of heats to test their knowledge and ability to effectively communicate the topic given to them.

Portic, who competed for the first time, adroitly performed with finesse and finished gracefully on the first heat. Ignacio, through his background and eloquence, propelled him to the Top 30.

The AUAP’s primary purpose is to allow universities in Asia and the Pacific region to have an avenue to effectively interact and collaborate with each other and with other higher education institutions around the world.

Kudos to our fellow Paladins who graciously showcased their talents on the world stage. Continue to reach higher and may this bout allow for greater opportunities ahead.
